It is well known that the male latex condom is the single, most efficient, available technology to reduce the sexual transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STDs), like gonorrhea and chlamydia.
For these just purposes, the Adama HIV/AIDS Resource Center has been providing the vulnerable and most at risk peoples for HIV infection since 2017. Currently, the resource center has already extended its distribution coverage to 24 districts in three Oromia Zonal administrations.
The targeted groups are indeed:
- Female sex workers
- People with Injecting Drug use
- Workers in hot spot areas
- People Living with HIV, and their partners
- Widows and Divorced men and women
- High risk adolescent and young women
